OGAE's aim is to bring fans of the Eurovision Song Contest together, exchange information and together with other organisations promote the interest for the Eurovision Song Contest. It was founded in Finland in 1984 and the Swedish branch was founded in 1985.
About OGAE Sweden
This group of people all have one interest in common – the music in Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest. We are about 500 members. Among us you will surely find someone who has the same favorite song as you, someone who knows every word of all Kikki Danielsson songs and someone who dances better than the Herrey brothers.
Our members are of all ages and genders, from all over Sweden and in addition, more and more people from other countries join us. Everyone is welcome to join; the only requirement we have, is that you in any way like Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest.
We've got activities all year round!
Melodifestivalklubben (OGAE Sweden) offer our members tickets to Melodifestivalen; many members follow the six week tour around the country. There is usually a large crowd of members who travel together to the Eurovision Song Contest. We have reporters sent out to report from the arenas and press conferences so that we do not miss anything about our favorite competition, whether we are on site or at home.At the Melodifestivalen Final we have one of our most popular activities, "Finalfesten", a whole-day party. It starts with a warmup- dinner during the day with a surprice artist and ends with a Melodifestival/Eurovision disco. Among the DJs that have played are OGAEs own DJ Ohrmeister and DJ Louis (Klomp). For those who are going to the liveshow-final we offer bustransport to the arena and then back to the afterparty. As an alternative you can stay and watch the final on big-screen.
Every autumn, we arrange a party to satisfy our longing for the spring competitions. This tends to be the biggest get-together during the year. We have dinner, disco and secret artists on stage. Among the artists who have made unique gigs for us is Nanne Grönwall, Sanna Nielsen, Kikki Danielsson, Magnus Carlsson, Pernilla Wahlgren, Jan Johansen, Lili & Susie, Gladys del Pilar, Anna Book, Jenny Silver, Christer Björkman and international artists such as Lys Assia, Chiara, Kirsten Siggaard, Birgitta Haukdal, Anabel Conde, Sinplus and Fabrizio Faniello. All the artists have participated in Melodifestivalen and/or Eurovision Song Contest.
In different parts of Sweden, there are meetings throughout the year, where we for example have a voting. We also arrange dinners for those who visit Melodifestivalen. One of the hightlights of the year is the dinner before the Melodifestivalen finale in Stockholm, where secret artists perform for us on stage; both Shirley Clamp and Hera Björk have performed for us in recent years. For those who do not travel to the city where Melodifestivalen or Eurovision Song Contest is held, the local coordinators may arrange a party night in front of the TV instead.
On this website you'll find a lot more if you become a member. Once logged in, you get access to news, competitions, votings, get to predict the outcome of both Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest. The member with the most correct prediction wins a prize. You can also discuss in different forums, buy tickets, visit our online shop with specific products for the club and much more.
